Bump on a Log is a short story that may be best suited for a younger audience, but I wrote it as an experiment of sorts. There are so many stories that take place in the middle of the action, such as on battle fields, on the ocean or on a mountain, but having a character that is involved in an active lifestyle does not infuse the story with action. My simple question was this, can a story be active if all the main character does is sit like a bump on a log? From that question came this story.
